Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The job role varies with different tasks each day. Most of it was managing sample or Point of Sale orders from customers but I was tasked in helping the marketing specialist with a range of jobs including credit notes, reporting and creating content for campaigns. No day is the same and I ended up working in multiple departments with internal projects too.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given enough to take on and lead small projects but much of it were tasks that were monitored and double checked

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt lots of new digital skills using new systems such as SAP, learnt better office skills including how I communicate with people around the office and over phone calls or emails.
I have developed my use of Excel and other microsoft programs as well as my written skills when it came to content creation for social media.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received lots of guidance and help. I think my manager and peers were very attentive to my needs, they saw my weaknesses and helped me build upon them

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Our office seems quiet, we all got on well but there wasn't much of a lively atmosphere. The family culture of the business and the support and connected community of all employees is very noticeable. We are well looked after and there are lots of opportunities and the occasional treat for our hard work such as a team meal or gifts at Christmas. The company is very active in the local community too

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I did enjoy my placement as I learnt a lot from it and made some great friends and connections. I was given a lot of opportunities and we had some fun days where we did activities as a team

What advice would you give to others applying to Egger
Read up on the business before you begin. Its a great place for those with both a creative or analytical mind and want the challenge. Every day is different, with new challenges, especially in marketing. You will get a full experience of your discipline and there are opportunities across the company, not just the UK.
