Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am A Building Services Design Engineer, my role is still being determined. By this I mean that I am exploring different avenues of the industry and for the first 6 months I have been doing electrical work but have now switched to mechanical work and will decide after 6 months of mechanical which I prefer. In terms of the day-to-day it has been varied. I am constantly learning new things, not only how to use certain softwares ect. But also about how processes and systems work in the construction industry.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
To a good extent, I have found the programme to be quite enjoyable, some elements of it are somewhat tedious but that is to be expected and understandable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes Definitely, my computer skills and my communication and social skills have improved massively alongside this my time management has also seen significant improvements.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organized, my employers and training providers coincide well and my line manager just finished going through the same programme so I have plenty of support where needed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Plenty, if I need to know anything or if there are any issues then I have a lot of different people that I can ask.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A good amount, I am on day release at LSBU once a week and can follow up with lecturers whenever I want if I don't understand something or miss anything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
To a certain extent, my training is obviously starting at a base level and covers everything while as, at work I am taught chunks at a time for whatever is relevant to my role in the project. This means that I have some large gaps in knowledge but overtime they will be filled.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are company wide events as well as individual team outings like the real life monopoly we did a couple months ago. We also go out for drinks and other social activities outside of the company every once in a while.
