Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
While learning about these different manufacturing processes I conduct theory paperwork and safety paperwork for these processes and machines and tools for these processes. I also regularly conduct maths and physics lesson with regular assignments and an assessment for each manufacturing process.
There are also online training segments to complete form my original company as I am based with a third party for my daily activities. I am required to complete my work on time and make up the minimum number of hours to complete the course, show up on time in correct work wear and a acceptable attitude.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Although it has been a large challenge maybe due to a combination of internal and external factors I have found It interesting and exiting to be introduced to these processes and meeting different people in this field. I have found it exiting to have this opportunity for advancement and look forward to heading to the main company to see what is different.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a large variety of skills to do with milling with a Milling machine, turning with a lathe, Welding with stick welds, hand fitting, machining and a small course on the business process to maximise efficiency. I have enjoyed learning about these subjects particularly welding. I have also gotten better at filling out paperwork.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
I have been quite disappointed at the organisation and scheduling for this as there have been multiple occasions of being given less time that origanally stated for a task, lack of instructors, I had come in having been told there was support for people with dyslexia and there seemed to be no time for it. As well as this from the company I am placed there have been close to no visits from our supervisor from the original company, when we asked him for help we were ignored several times until there any response/action is taken and when I had tried to make time out of my day to actively sort out my laptop issues as soon as possible but could not be sure if I could make it to the company that day because of a clash with a dentist appointment he responded extremely rudely I felt he may have even been making implications to my job security.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I have felt there has been little to no support and we have been ignored as much as possible. when we asked him for help we were ignored several times until there any response/action is taken and it is only taken at the latest point possible. when I had tried to make time out of my day to actively sort out my laptop issues as soon as possible but could not be sure if I could make it to the company that day because of a clash with a dentist appointment he responded extremely rudely I felt he may have even been making implications to my job security. They had only changed his attitude recently after sending out the link for this website and giving out the uniform we required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I felt I received a good amount of support from the relevant staff given how busy they are and felt I could ask the relevant staff if I was unsure about something. I had regular reviews and was checked up on to see how I was doing. And although some of the deadlines where tight there where no unrealistic expectations and understanding on difficulties.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have learnt a large variety of skills to do with milling with a Milling machine, turning with a lathe, Welding with stick welds, hand fitting, machining and a small course on the business process to maximise efficiency. From these skills I have gotten a better understanding on general engineering principals. I have also gotten better at filling out and interpreting required paperwork/schematics.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There is a charity champions team, and there was a apprentice meet once but apart from that I am unaware of the current extra-curricular activities. I am not part of the charity champions and I think the meet was for BMW apprentices.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Siemens Healthineers to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Whenever I have visited the plant everyone has seemed very happy and friendly, I had realized the first year is the hardest, siemens has good benefits, I only had a bad experience with one siemens employee. I am also very interested in the business and I believe it will be gratifying work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
Make sure to allow for a very flexible schedule for your first year focusing on transport as well as time outside of work to get extra work done. Make sure you try to get any current work done as soon as possible without rushing it too much, as more work or work that had been missed or has a short deadline may come up while you think you've got more time and if it doesn't it means you can skim through the next topic to get a better understanding beforehand and overall/after.
