Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am part of three teams one that maintains network connections to specific devices within hospitals.
Another team that stets up and installs new servers and imaging software ready for the hospital staff to use and another that works on new technology to monitor medical devices temperatures and pressures to observe trends and potential fail points.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Greatly enjoy the program I enjoy the tasks I am required to do as many require me to be creative and think about problems in lots of different ways. I also enjoy the social aspect as there are many new teams and people that I meet and get to know.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned many Communication skills through my role as i have needed to talk to many new people both customers and colleagues.
Through my role I have learned many Technical skills as I have needed to perform complex tasks.
I have had to manage my own time more effectively and have had to be independently resourceful.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have received a few hiccups due to my training provider's switching a lot and its eventual closure.
Siemens Healthineers has helped me through all of this. the structure within siemens is fantastic there several people dedicated to help with any problem that I might face with my program or my work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I feel I receive support in all areas. There are many teams and people dedicated to solving different types of problems, any question I have will be answered any problem resolved. Siemens Healthineers will also go out of their way to provide resources and tools to help complete my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider wasn't as helpful as I would have liked I spent most my time discussing what stage I was at in my program before my training coach would leave and I would then explain where I was at with another coach. I was only able to get this far as I had help form Siemens Healthineers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I learned how to do my role with the help of Siemens Healthineers through the use of their training resources and the expertise of my mentors. The experience I have in the company working with the devices has helped me pass my qualification. My training provider (Global Knowledge) didn't provide much training.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are two apprentice meetings each year where all the current apprentices meet up.
One of these is to celebrate the graduation of the apprentices coming to the end of their program.
The other is a learning opportunity, we are taken to a siemens site that we would not normally be able to see and are able to learn more about the wider organisation.

Siemens Healthineers helps you find a role you are comfortable with and enjoy while also offering great pay and support with all sections of my role. There is also an exceptional support structure to help with all queries.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
I would say to anyone thinking about applying to siemens to prepare and do research on the company there are many sectors to join and lots of different programs. I would also recommends having a driving licences as doing field work had rapidly sped up my learning and all field roles require a driving licence.
