Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my current rotation I am a pricing analyst, responsible for putting together pricing papers, business partnering with markets globally to make improvements and suggestions and then processing the upload of pricing papers. Supplementary, I work alongside the wider team on projects ranging from wellbeing to software development.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the work, there is a great level of responsibility and value add that I can have to the business. These are process driven activities but these are necessary and part of the work. I enjoy the number of extra curricular activities I am able and supported to get involved in

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have improved my technical knowledge of pricing related concepts, improved my business partnering and networking skills and through the supplementary work improved my leadership and decision making when taking on responsibilities.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The work side is structured with 4, 1 year rotations in different areas of finance. There is support to ensure you hit certain criteria of learning skills and interacting with new workstreams and people. The study side has a level of independence at the speed you progress however there are regular check ins
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a personal level of support from my manager and my D grade (supervisor), I also have a cohort lead who keeps regular contact as well as scheduled monthly meetings. There are also a number of early careers members who reach out regularly to check progress and wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider has been good but not amazing, and as such may be changed as JLR strive to give us the best performance. There are regular check ins but spread apart roughly 3 months at a time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The CIMA CGMA qualification fits in extremely well with my work and I use the concepts and technical knowledge commonly. In my previous role doing month end work I found it extremely helpful for learning how accruals work, how to do debits and credits and other key concepts
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am a member of a TIC (Team Improvement Circle) where we are innovating JLR practices, an active member of the wellbeing network, a Pulse Champion (supporting the results of an annual survey) and also take part in social events with my Team, the other apprentices and friends through JLR

Yes
Why?
An inclusive culture where you are supported to grow both personally and professionally. There is a multitude of opportunities and chances to widen your experiences. The products are also inspiring, getting to see their production process is really impressive and makes you proud to be a part of it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Be your authentic self and be motivated. Have an interest in the company and not just your own progression. Take the time to learn about interesting projects they are working on and show that you have had this interest when you are applying.
