Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Typically I'm involved in various meetings with the design team and stakeholders from the client site in which we discuss design and content direction as well as showcase any updates. I'm responsible for hi-fidelity content and design work in various softwares as well as other internal engagements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I find lot of enjoyment. I have some interesting work come in where i get to practice my skills as well as collaborate with senior designers. I also enjoy the academic side when I attend university, growing my knowledge as well as academic ability.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've learnt many new skills through my apprenticeship, mainly in the world of user experience and business management. Joining from College I was fresh to the world of corporate careers so I quickly has to learn about agile working and being team collaboration.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
As we are the second cohort at my university and the first for my programme at the company there has been many bumps along the way. Sometimes things weren't communicated or given to us in a way that felt accommodating. I know now though the experience is different.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I'd say a lot. As with the previous question it's gotten better since i joined. As of now I feel very supported in the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My employer is very keen on qualifications both from free/internal sources and external trainings. I feel as if I can grow professionally very well within this company. Yet with University it's hard to find time to do courses.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think it provides a good knowledge and basis that I can build on in the workplace. I feel like work experience and real life exposure is where the true learning happens.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are extra-curricular activities across the company. I know of some sporting communities. There is also a good social life within the graduate and apprentice circle.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel that I have taken a lot of value and enjoyment from this company and would expect that a friend could benefit the same.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
Be honest. As an apprentice you are not expected to know everything about the role. Understand that you are learning and be open to these opportunities. Don't go into an interview or company with a big ego in that sense, present yourself as someone willing.
