Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role includes providing advice, guidance and support to managers and team members on a range of processes, policies and issues via phone and email. I provide support on Right to Work processes, deliver training to managers and shift leaders on Employee Relations and collate reporting for my team each day. I am involved with a range of duties and adhoc responsibilities to keep me busy, and I really enjoy my role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoyed the apprenticeship, I found Lifetime to be really helpful and my Learning and Development coach supported me a lot. I had a very supportive manager who had done an apprenticeship in the past and this made a huge difference. I was supported by Whitbread all the way and I feel grateful to work in a company that allowed me to develop my training with an apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, it has helped so much when I am delivering training and allows me to explain the training in a better way. I also feel more confident searching for information and know what to look for when I am searching for answers. My apprenticeship also pushed me to speak to people I wouldn't normally have contact with, and provided opportunities that I potentially wouldn't have had otherwise.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It was well organised and I found it easy to follow and stay on track. I had regular meetings with my manager and my coach to discuss my progress and any areas that needed to be worked on so felt it had good structure.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I was very well supported by my employer, I had the apprenticeship manager check in with me and my line manager was very supportive. I also had support from my immediate team in regards to proof reading my work and offering advice and suggestions. Overall I really enjoyed my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I felt that Lifetime supported me really well, I felt comfortable to reach out to my LDC for any advice I needed and found out catch ups to be useful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that I can perform better in my role when I am advising on HR/ER issues on the helpdesk, and also feel that I can perform better whilst delivering training as I remember the learnings from my apprenticeship and can incorporate this in my delivery. I have also had good feedback from my manager in regards to this showing in my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there is different networks to get involved in such as our LGBTQ+ network: Glow, our Gender Equality Network and our Race Religion and Cultural Heritage network.
