My daily role involves working on internal and external client projects as a user researcher or UX designer, helping to support the wider UCD (user-centred design) team to create and deliver improved experiences for users on our digital services.

I have learnt a lot of UX skills, including those about research practices, working ethically, designing innovative and creative solutions, and effective ways to work in multi-disciplined teams.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

As someone who previously did a year on a different degree apprenticeship elsewhere, this one is much better run. Despite being a fairly new course, the staff are all supportive, it's flexible and creative with a mix of classroom theory and active experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Capgemini are really supportive, I love working within the UX team and I know who I can go to if I need help on my course.

Capgemini offers a great start to your career. Their collective experience and knowledge is invaluable and they have supported hundreds of apprentices and graduates over the years. There is a lot of support available and you don't need to join knowing everything; they help train you and help you develop in-demand industry skills. Joining with other apprentices and graduates also helps the transition from college or university into the workplace and you have the opportunity to work in various multi-disciplined teams.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
When applying and going through the interview stages, be yourself and let your personality and interests come through. Don't try and memorise answers or worry about knowing lots of technical knowledge. They are more interested in knowing what you are like as a person, how you would work in a team and why you want to work with them. When answering questions, make sure to provide examples that are relevant and true to you and your experiences.
