Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Several different types of tasks including drafting, reviewing documents, liaising with external people, emails, cost reviews.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much so

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes
- grammar has improved along with other English skills.
- widening my vocabulary.
- confidence has improved.
- built on team working skills, time management and prioritising tasks.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
IM LLP is very well structured. ULaw sometimes can be a little bit muddled but I put that primarily to the fact that it is online and therefore h=can be hard to keep up with all tasks as well as working a full week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Completely - supported with anything and everything even when not asked for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Lots of leniency, training days, study days and also flexible working so I can fit around exams.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Qualification is required to carry out my role.
Helps understand different legal sectors that I may not come across on a day to day basis, helps my presentation skills and also develops my drafting and overall level of confidence.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Not at present but there are plenty opportunities.

Yes
Why?
Super supportive, and a great path to becoming fully qualified. Understanding of pressures and teams are wonderful and help in whichever way they can to make sure you're fully supported and not overwhelmed with anything.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell?
Be yourself - authentic is the best way to be as then people can see you for who you are and what you can bring to the table.
Be patient - sometimes responses to stages of the interview can take a while. Don't let this dishearten you; you will eventually get a response just check your emails regularly.
Don't worry about missing the 'uni life'. Apprenticeships have great benefits that you can't get from going to uni; including hands-on experience, paid every month and putting knowledge into practice. At the end, you also have a guaranteed job role.
