Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role means I am I dealing with guests throughout the night, dealing with any on going issues, I am point of call.
Making sure the hotel is quiet throughout the night, whilst doing multiple tasks. I also am in constant contact with the team, making sure any training they require, I have provided it, that they are up to scratch with the GDPR and safety, I also have a responsibility of doing the rotas each week, making sure forecast matches teams timesheets.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Getting to learn new things, being tasks with someone I’ve never known before and finding the answer and letting my work coach know my input on things. Seeing my work coach, she has been in the role I want to go into so she has help me massively, know what I want and how to get there.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since being on this course I have learnt the importance of being patient, different methods of dealing with certain situations, giving me a better understanding of what skills I need for my progression within this company.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It’s very good structure, if I have a question I email my work coach within 24hours I’ve got a response, the only reason the response is that long is because I work nights so I don’t check my emails in the day.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have all the support I need. If I have any questions to do with my apprenticeship I have a solid network around me to be able to reach out for help if needed. This is due to me being in the company for just over 10 years, I am happy with where I am and what support there is.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I honestly cannot fault, my work coach who has been there every step of the way. At the start I did want to give up due to the first work coach I had, I never seen him never had any face to face catch up meeting. When I was stuck wouldn’t respond. Soon has I changed and had Katie, she has been amazing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am taking day by day, but it’s help me and coached me how to deal with certain challenges that’s I’ve had to deal with head on. I’m very confident in my actions that I take and never second guess my decisions on what I’m doing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We are in a work WhatsApp chat that all the team are in, as far as I’m aware premier inn don’t offer any extra curricular activities within the industry it’s hospitality so it’s really hard to doing extra curricular activities, unless I help with m days and see the team of course.

Why?
Because it’s amazing company to work for, it’s a stable job, good benefits. Great schemes, pensions, perks at work, the list is endless, if it wasn’t a great company I would of stayed here for so long and I wouldn’t be pushing myself to become further within this business
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread plc?
It’s not has bad has you first thing, it’s a very friendly team, friendly management team, you stick to the rules don’t be rude your go far within the company, if you want progression and you got drive determination and a great personality this is definitely the job for you.
