Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each day there was a presentation on one of fidelity's three main business areas: Equities, Fixed Income and Multi Assets. Thereafter we were set an interactive group task to complete related to each of these asset classes. We were also introduced to teams like mental health and well being, CSR and D&I at Fidelity and their important work in what makes up their culture. We also had the opportunity to network with graduates.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was incredibly insightful to understand the different 'limbs' of the business and therefore how all the various roles come together to make up the culture, investment success and reputation of the company. It also exposed me to the range of opportunities available at Fidelity, hence making my job of identifying which suits me best, a lot more easy.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight
3/5
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Fidelity gets involved with and interacts with its' society a lot more than I imagined. Through their D&I, CSR and mental health teams(which are all employee led), I can definitely see the inclusive, diverse and collaborative culture at the firm along with their strong emphasis for making a difference to our wider society both nationally and globally. From what it seems, fellow employees all get along well and have a great understanding of eachother.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the Spring week and I personally believe despite it's short 3 day nature, I managed to squeeze out so much valuable information from it. I now have a very good understanding of the different roles and services that Fidelity as a company offer, but also I feel like they have taught great skills like the importance of presentaton skills as well as providing tips to improve these.

Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fidelity International
Definitely just go for it. The Spring Insight itself has a brilliant structure which is as if you are walking through the business and learning about it. Make sure you understand a bit about the business area but not much prior knowledge about asset management or Fidelity is required. This is the whole point of the Spring programme. To Learn about Fidelity!
Make sure to keep an eye out for applications opening and try to complete the simulation, video interview as soon as possible!
