Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Land referencing involves gathering, analysing and recording data related to land ownership, boundaries and usage for various purpose like infrastructure projects or national developments. Our day-to-day tasks includes desktop researches, conducting surveys, liaising with stakeholders and preparing reports to ensure accurate land information.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

As mentioned in previous questions, I have learnt a lot in this programme and it gives me a great opportunity to experience UK office life. I enjoy the atmosphere and enthusiastic of my colleagues a lot. However, because of my language barrier, I find it stressful to socialise sometimes.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot of professional communication skills, understanding of legal frameworks and proper terminology, ability to interpret maps and surveys, knowledge of GIS software and the ability to work independently or work as part of a team.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Since the programme is new and I am part of the first cohort, I cannot say it is perfectly organised. The training provider has changed, there are only 1 teacher who is leaving soon, there are no mock paper and the marking system is relatively generic.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I would say the amount of support is plenty. They have been trying to give us as much opportunity to get involve with anything related to the role. There are mentoring programmes within the company, we get to learn a lot from experienced colleagues as well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The teacher is doing her very best to ensure all the topic in the exam is covered and she is always patient and willing to answer any questions. One thing I would prefer is some mock paper and standard answer samples, so the requirement is clearer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training gives us a lot of the background information of my role. Things that will not come to my mind while in a working environment. It helps me to understand the bigger picture of the project comparing with the daily tasks in the office.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

All social activities, sports, or professional networking events are available for us. And to be fair there are even more like guest speakers, apprenticeship promotion in schools and more are available too.

Why?
As mentioned, great working environment, big company with variety of opportunities and extra-curricular activities. Also, part remote working allow us to have a better flexibility in life. And there are many office in many cities so location shouldn't be a big problem.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mott MacDonald?
Take the opportunity if you get a chance and even if it does not go well, you will still learn.
