Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
1/5
Doing the hca job, cleaning, washing, feeding the patient and assisting them out of bed, changing bed linens, checking blood pressure and blood sugars, documenting actions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
It is interesting overall but the employer is not giving me 20% off the job hours, in contrast to what they signed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
1/5
Not yet

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Not very well. I do not think that the employer is prepared to support Trainee Nursing Associates with their role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I am supposed to receive 6 hrs per week off the job, whilst working in the hospital and I have received 30min in total over three and a half months!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider seems to be doing what they are expected to do.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
To a significant effect.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Yes

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it is a big trust and supposedly there are chances of progression and chances to offer to the patients.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Do not take for granted that your employer will respect your rights. For instance, the time they give you to do your e-learning is quite short and not sufficient. They do not give you time to check your emails, at least not in my ward. Also, I applied to get there to work in a different ward to what I was positioned.
