Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to care for the children by helping them learn by doing activities with them and general care and helping to develop their social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills
I would help clean up, lead circle times, change nappies, put out snack and lunch times and showing good hygiene to them
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I’ve liked working with the children and seeing how they progress with the help and support from us as practitioners. I’ve had some happy experiences and seeing children having the best experience off the setting Nursery. The training provider was very supportive, the place where I worked was sometimes supportive

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I’ve learnt how to perform tasks easier and effectively. I’ve learnt skills that help with my practice like changing a nappy, doing planning, doing observations, leading circle times, leading activities and using open ended questions for the children to answer. I’ve learnt so much and about the policy’s and procedures used

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The organisation was very clear and effective. The training I received was always a happy, supportive and helpful one. When I needed help they was always very helpful with my work tasks. If I was struggling they would arrange sessions to help me with my work tasks. Overall they have helped me
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support was giving me time to do off the job tasks. Other collaugues helped and supported more and they let me know how to perform tasks correctly, effectively and quickly. They helped suggest new ideas to me and would help me with questions I have and they would give me answers
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They was very helpful and I would meet with my assessor atleast each month to see what my remaining tasks was. When I signed everything off I was sent a mapping grid and my portfolio work. I received mock tests to prepare me for my end point assessment that I passed
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It has given me the knowledge and confidence in my role and helped me be a better practitioner. I now know what to do and I can explain better about what the day to day basics are and how I implement my knowledge to my job. It have given me experience
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Not really, every Christmas there is a Christmas party where everyone goes to a nice place to celebrate. We sometimes had days where we dress up with the children to celebrate certain days like Christmas or Easter which was good to do. We have graduations for some children where we can help out
