Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day role varies greatly week to week. Depending on what clients I am engaged with I could be doing anything from reviewing the conduct of clients to working with them to help their customers
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It's pretty good. Not life changing but the people are great. Very friendly environment and we get stuff done which is always a good feeling

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have had the opportunity to engage with a multitude of learning opportunities and develop my programming skills while working with knowledgeable people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
At EY Newcastle, a large proportion of the staff are apprentices which means that the course is tightly integrated into work life
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
EY are very accommodating to any of the needs of the university and work very closely with them
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Uni is probably the weakest part of the experience but there have been a few good lectures
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are a few but there is definitely scope for more to be done on this front

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
As a short term starter job, there really aren't many better options than EY. Not a career for me at this point but that might change in the future
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be confident. Nobody here is as scary as it seems. Be professional, be confident, be nice and you'll have as good a chance as anyone else applying
