My first year at EY has been a period of significant learning and growth. Balancing client work with ACA studies has helped me develop strong technical, organisational, and communication skills. I've enjoyed collaborating with different engagement teams, building client relationships, and seeing how audit work contributes to audit quality. Looking back, I've become much more confident and capable than when I first joined.

My main responsibilities include performing audit testing, analysing financial information, documenting findings, and supporting the delivery of high-quality audits. I also work closely with clients and engagement teams to obtain and assess audit evidence. The part I enjoy most is the variety of clients and industries I work with, as well as the continuous learning and teamwork involved in delivering an audit.

To a large extent, my role allows me to contribute meaningfully through the audit work I perform and the responsibilities I take on within engagement teams. I feel valued when my work is recognised, when I am trusted with greater responsibility, and when my input is considered as part of the team's discussions and decision-making. The supportive and collaborative environment has helped me develop both professionally and personally.

I feel that my compensation package fairly reflects my current role and level of experience, particularly when considering the broader benefits, learning opportunities, and ACA support provided by EY. The package offers good overall value, and I appreciate the firm's investment in my development. As I continue to grow and take on additional responsibilities, I hope my compensation will continue to reflect that progression.

The role is preparing me well for my future career by helping me develop both technical audit expertise and broader professional skills. I feel very well supported. The willingness of colleagues and senior team members to provide guidance, answer questions, and share their experience has played a significant role in my development during my first year. The support I've received has enabled me to build confidence, develop new skills, and contribute more effectively to engagements.

Work-life balance has generally been reasonable. There have been periods, particularly during busy season, where workloads have been demanding, but I recognise this is part of working in audit. Outside of these peak periods, I have typically been able to maintain a healthy balance between work, ACA studies, and personal commitments. I appreciate the flexibility and support provided by the firm and my engagement teams.
