Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Team leader in a busy outpatient MSK department with training roles in advanced clinical practice including urgent care.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
Many aspects of the programme have been enjoyable but organisation of the teaching department with communication and recognising that students have family lives and often full time jobs is lacking.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I’ve learnt skills in identifying visceral pathologies. Enhanced my skills in leadership and education.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
The organisation is good but the communication and sticking to agreed timelines of often poor. There is much more emphasis on students adhering to deadlines that university honouring them.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Really good employer support. They have held up the agreement they signed and provided me with time and support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Support is variable and very dependent on the member of staff supporting you. Some are very supportive. Others you feel don’t make you a priority even though they have allocated time to support you.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
A lot of what I have learnt will not be applicable to my role and there was not the flexibility to make it specific.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Work/ life balance does not allow for this. There is already too much pressure within the workplace and not enough time for work tasks.
