Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am responsible for conducting assessments and short term interventions with young people who have been referred to our service for an ASD assessment. My role involves lots of report writing. I work closely under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy the university experience and some of the teaching. However, I do not feel that I have received a well rounded learning that has enabled me to be an integrative therapist, I feel like I have only learnt CBT

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed lots of new skills whilst working in this role, as this is my first clinical job. My workplace and uni have been really supportive and encouraging of my development.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
We are the first cohort to study at NTU and due to staff sickness/maternity, it has been quite disorganised at times, I realise that the staff at NTU have tried their best to make it as smoothly as possible for us and they have taken feedback on board
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is reallly supportive. I have children and they are really understanding when I need to take leave for their sickness. They are also really proactive in allowing me to book onto training to further my CPD.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My supervisor in my workplace has been really supportive in helping me to reach my KSB's in order to pass my apprenticeship. This is something that we regularly talk about in supervision to ensure that I am being exposed to work that I can reference in my KSB's
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that my qualification will hopefully demonstrate that I have the knowledge and people skills to be confident and competent in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I regularly put myself forward for professional discussions and training. I am really passionate about being the best therapist that I can be, and I realise that networking and training opportunities will help me to achieve this
