Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My main role is to manage the educational course bookings and ensure both learners and facilitators have all they need to undertake the various courses we deliver. This also includes setting up and maintenance of systems and processes associated with developing newsletters, advertising, course bookings, maintaining resources, collating evaluations, and developing and maintaining data bases.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I can honestly say that I have enjoyed the programme much more than I thought I would. I have found the workshops beneficial and have learnt a lot from the other students experiences with regards to the discussions held. I am also enjoying the tasks and relating these to my current role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I feel I have most definitely developed in my confidence around the tasks that I do daily and have found the reflection element that was introduced as part of the apprenticeship really useful. This has helped me to develop further as I look closely at how tasks can be improved.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well structured and the tutors have been very supportive throughout. There is a clear structure which enables me to keep on track and ensure that I complete tasks as required. There is also supportive documentation, i.e. PowerPoints, word documents that can assist further and these have been useful in cementing my learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support from my employer has been amazing, right from when I requested the opportunity to undertake the apprenticeship, they have been encouraging and hugely helpful. They have given me opportunities to shadow or assist in projects or tasks that I would not normally have had the chance to undertake.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider has given me the tools and contacts to complete this apprenticeship in good time and also by encouraging me to achieve high standards. The support of the tutors is reassuring, I know that I can contact them with any query and they will respond quickly, whilst given me good advice on how to move forward.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe that if I am able to gain this qualification it will be an achievement for me personally and will without doubt benefit me in performing my role to a higher standard. As we work through the programme, I am aware of more and more from a business perspective and this is useful on a daily basis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work, for example there is a virtual book club that the Trust holds monthly. As a team we have social activities throughout the year which are always a nice way to connect in a relaxed manner with colleagues from across the service.

Yes
Why?
I would recommend Northamptonshire healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to a friend as a place to work without hesitation. It is supportive Trust that has a way of making all of its employees feel part of the wider team. They are a caring organisation that appreciates its employees and does as much as it can to support them to fulfill their roles. The importance of the individuals wellbeing is often stressed to all.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
I would advise anyone wanting to apply to Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust to do it! As with any application for a new role, research the organisation and in particularly look at their aim, mission, leadership behaviours and values. These are important to the Trust and show again why it is a great place to work.
