Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role contains me shadowing other project engineers, helping to induct contractors on my site, completing SHE6 forms and helping around the office with tasks that are in my skill set. If something is not in my skill set then I shadow other project engineers to learn more about the activity.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
So far I am really enjoying my apprenticeship as I am learning more and more about my role each day and developing valuable knowledge which will help me to go further in my career, alongside that the programme gives me reasonable working hours to be able to effectively do my job and also spend valuable time with family.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Over the course of my apprenticeship, I have so far learnt how to use DAPTIV, fill out a SHE6 form, induct contractors, locate certain site map requirements eg what pumps work and which are under repair / renovation. I have learnt how different sites have different rules and regulations depending on the size and if it is a clear or waste water site.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well structured and keeps everything planned well in advance of what is going to happen or what needs to be done for example if we have a large scale meeting it is planned months in advance allowing everyone to work around the plans and still be able to attend.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I get lots of support from my employer and apprenticeship coordinator if I ever have any questions or queries they are there straight away to be able to assist if they are not busy themselves they also assist and understand that I have autism and make sure that I am alright mentally as well as just in the work environment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
my training provider provides lots of assistance to me when needed and always tries to keep me on track academically making sure that me and other apprentices are understanding and are able to complete any tasks that are given to us. I am also given extra time for exams due to my autism which my training provider has helped to put in place
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
In some aspects my training provider is giving me vital skills that will better assist me to perform better in my job role but I believe there should be another course that's more directed to my job role rather then one specific aspect of it as I am a project engineer that will only posses a civil engineering degree rather then general engineering which covers a lot more areas
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
there are lots of extra activities that my work have available like our lunch and learns every couple of weeks on a Friday which is where we meet on teams and a senior management colleague will speak to other apprentices and workers teaching them about on going processes to further our knowledge
