Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am involved in both pre and post contract work to include, creating 3 point estimates in cost plans, pricing risk and creating cost models. I also do post contract control, auditing and valuations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I couldn't recommend it more. Mott MacDonald are an incredible company and offer a great amount of support.

All of the skills I have learnt have been new skills which have and are still being developed at a very quick rate.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised. Lots of training and project-based experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We have support sessions, apprentice only training as well as all Mott Macdonald staff training. We receive a great amount of support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

UCEM offer little support, I requested an additional training session on referencing over three months ago with no response. I have chased them 5 times now.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification will teach me why we do certain things and reinforce all the knowledge I gain through my on the job experience. However, roughly 30 % of the content is completely irrelevant to quantity surveying. If this was replaced or cut out completely then the course would be much more engaging.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there is generally at least 1 activity per week, even in my smaller office of Exeter. I am aware that the larger offices do offer more, probably due to budgeting and numbers.
