Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I provide administrative and secretarial support to six Urgent Care Consultants, two wards and a unit. I take telephone calls from patients and other staff members throughout the trust, as well as from GP surgeries. I type and send letters, chase reports and deal with post. I also assist in managing staff members.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed my programme very much. It has given me an increased knowledge and skill set that I previously did not have. The information provide is very thorough, informative and helpful. I am due to finish shortly but I am still enjoying the last steps of the programme very much.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many news skills as well as developing existing skills. For example, I have developed my communication skills and can now communicate with less anxiety then before and with more confidence. New skills I have learnt are managing staff, creating rotas to ensure it reflects all staffing levels, availability and holiday and am able to use our in house system in putting out shifts to bank.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme I am completing is extremely organised and structured. The programme has been set out to be very clear so that I know where I am and how much more I have to complete. The programme has been set out with tasks that relate to each area I have to work on without being mixed up and jumping between, for example, operational management to personal development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a lot of support from my employer, my colleagues and line manager. They have assisted me when learning new tasks, allowing me to shadow them so that I gain further and clearer understanding of how things in a management position works and I am allowed allocated time to dedicate to my course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received a lot of great support from my training provider when working towards my qualification. They are there if I need them. All I need to do is put an email through and we can arrange a teams meeting to discuss anything I may be stuck on. All reviews have been thorough and informative and support is always on offer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has massively increased my knowledge and skill set. Thanks to my course, I have been able to take on new tasks and expand my responsibilities. It has also helped me perform better in my own role by giving me an increase in confidence, especially when communicating with others.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are some extracurricular activities that are on offer within my workplace, which are out of hours. I have not attended any but there are things like sponsored sky dives, fundraising nights such as quiz nights to raise money for charities and/or departments. There are raffles around Christmas time.
