Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
There were a series of sessions and an interactive Commercial Awareness workshop. The sessions were introductions to various departments including International Dispute Resolution and International Corporate Transactions. These were extremely informative, with space for questions and answers. The Commercial Awareness workshop was very engaging, and I learnt a great deal. It encouraged me to think deeply about acquisition risks and perform well in a team. Overall the day was helpful and well structured.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
My understanding of the business was well developed. There was enough space to ask specific questions. Initial questions I had were answered throughout the day. The potential roles available including the training contract were easily understood.

I gained a deeper understanding of commercial awareness and how to improve it. I also learnt in more detail the commercial issues surrounding a legal case study.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Pro bono is regarded as important in the company. Trainees are encouraged to do this as well as be proactive, in aiming to do the best they can. They are an important and integral member of the team, and not so much a 'cog in the system'. Exposure is key for development here. The company comprises a team who are passionate about their work and inclusive of others.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The sessions were informative and answered my questions. I gained many skills in the interactive workshop and felt welcomed by the training principal. It met my expectations. I would recommend applying for the Open Day.
