Open Day Review

The morning session of the Open Day comprised presentations and discussions with various members of the firm - presentations on international dispute resolution and corporate transactions were particularly insightful and allowed for plenty of questions. A panel session with current trainees was also very helpful, allowing attendees to gain an understanding of the training at Gibson Dunn. The afternoon session comprised mainly of a partner-led commercial awareness workshop, which provided excellent insight to commercial considerations.

Interesting and exciting in equal measure. The insights into practice areas was very helpful, and the work undertaken in practice areas across the firm is cutting-edge and big ticket, with a very impressive client base. Trainees also helped by providing insights to their training, which sounds challenging, comprehensive and exciting.

I have refined my approach to commercial awareness. Following the Open Day, I feel that I have been equipped with useful guidance and advice to shape my approach to commercial considerations in transactions/disputes.

Very welcoming. Every member of the firm who contributed to the Open Day freely shared their experiences of the firm and it was impressive how many Partners took time out of their day to speak to attendees. I got the impression the culture is meritocratic, supportive and genuinely 'open-door'/non-hierarchical.
