Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day role involves looking after young people with learning disabilities and supporting them with day to day tasks. I help them to get dressed for the day, make their meals and support them with any activities they would like to do, whilst also allowing them to keep their independence.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
If I am honest I don’t really enjoy completing my programme, I find it very tedious and find myself not wanting to complete it. However I know it will benefit me in the long run which I can’t wait to finish, I find it can be boring sometimes.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I’ve learnt many new skills, such as my time keeping skills. My job has allowed me to develop my social skills a lot too, due to working with new people. My communication skills have also developed massively as I have learnt many new ways to communicate with people in away which helps them.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I’d say the programme is well structured on paper, however waiting for tasks to be assigned can be very unorganised. I find myself waiting for work to be assigned for me to complete however the work that’s sat waiting for me to complete is well structured so I know what is next.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer provides a lot of support for me during my programme, I get set time during the month for completing my programme and if I need extra support and time I will receive it. They also will help me if I struggle with anything I know I just need to ask.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I don’t think the suppose from my provider is the best it could be, for example my tutor oftern takes a while to respond to me a lot of the time. However if I really needed some support I feel I could continuously try and contact her and I would eventually get through.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I feel my qualification has allowed me to perform better as I have learnt a lot more information and facts that have helped me develop more in my role. I also have learnt new legislation during my qualification which helps me to develop so well in the written role x.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
No there isn’t.
