Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I manage a small team consisting of a rights & permissions analyst and a team of offshore vendor workers. We are responsible for managing the rights for all third-party assets that are used in our Workforce Skills Vocational Qualification learning courseware products.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It helps to put into context the strategies, values and goals that are driving the business I work for. In particular, as a new manager, I am enjoying helping my team to develop and grow, and applying skills, theories and concepts from the course to my everyday work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The apprenticeship has provided a deeper understanding of how my organisation is managed with a key focus on business areas that I would otherwise not engage with as rights is quite a niche area. I have been able to apply my learning to my everyday tasks including line management.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

From the offset the Pearson apprenticeship team have been there to support me, when I need it. The Open University provides a well-structured course experience with clear learning outcomes. I am able to plan in my studies using their weekly session guidance. There is also an array of learning tools.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The apprenticeship team are very visible and we have a dedicated apprenticeship site internally as well as a Microsoft Teams channel. The team send out communications regarding events and provide opportunities to engage, should you wish to, with other apprenticeship colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The Open University has been brilliant. They have provided support and encouragement when I have request it and checked in on me. The course materials are well designed and easy to follow and adapted for disabilities. I have the support of module tutors and a dedicated Practice Tutor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have noticed a difference in the way I present myself, how I think, and this has helped to improve my performance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The apprenticeship team are very good at communicating events and activities through email, LinkedIn, internal sites and the dedicated Microsoft Teams channel. I attended a binding ceremony at The Stationers Hall for example.

It is a great place to grow as an individual. You will have the opportunity to learn from others. The people are at the heart of the business and the enthusiasm and drive to create great products is infectious - hard work - but rewarding work. Expect to be challenged.
