Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis, I have daily tasks relating to budgets, reporting and working on my apprenticeship. Similarly, I have different tasks for each day of the week which relate to meetings that are held weekly. I organise my day based on the current tasks and projects I have on my plate, so no two days are the same!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my program. I have a supportive team who help me learn a wide range of marketing skills and get me involved in as many projects as possible to continue to learn and develop my skills. Due to being involved in a variety of projects, I have a lot of diversity in my work load which I enjoy.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Coming into this role, I had no experience of marketing so a lot of the skills I've learnt are new to me! I have developed other skills, including personal skills such as confidence and presentation skills and these are two skills that I continue to develop each day. I also learn new skills regularly as I take on new tasks and projects and work with other teams, and I'm sure I'll continue to learn more throughout my apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
In the work place, my program is really well structured and organised. With the learning provider, we did have a few hiccups at the start of the program which we have almost sorted out. While it didn't stop the learning, the lack of organisation from the college's side did cause a bit of nervousness at the start of the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from Sage, from both my team, the early careers team and anyone across Sage who I work with. I have check in meetings weekly with my manager to discuss anything about my apprenticeship that may need talking about, and the monthly sessions with early careers give us the chance to learn about more areas of the business.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
While the learning sessions are useful, sometimes the support from the training provider is not the best. For our first assignment, we didn't get much guidance and the monthly meetings often move around in our calendars a lot. We also get 1:1 meetings which can be helpful, but again these are often added last minute so we don't always get to make the most out of the time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think the learning does help in my role, but I've found I have learnt more that helps me perform better in my role rather than the training provider. The provider teaches us more content which can help me, but the skills I learn in my role are more beneficial to me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have a team in the office which help organise office events which I am beginning to get involved with. Within my team, we have team events within the office and also when we are working at other locations with the wider team, such as when we work at events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Sage (UK) Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Sage is a great place to work, and though while it can be busy, there is a great support network to help you through your work and any issues that may arise. There is always work available to support on which often can involve working with other teams which helps get an understanding of the wider business. Similarly, there are many opportunities for development, which is great for anyone who wants to push their development while they work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage (UK) Ltd?
Take every opportunity! Whether that is development or an event, you never know where you'll end up! That could be at an event, or an office event after work but you can meet some great people who could help you in your role or any future roles you may take on. Also, keep doing what you enjoy out of work. Sometimes when it gets really busy, after work I find its important to still do what you enjoy to allow you some personal time not thinking about work.
