I take data and perform cleansing steps using Alteryx and load my results into a dashboard such as Power BI or Spotfire. This provides useful insights to audit teams so that they can easily spot things from large data sets and drilldown on these issues with management
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme, I have developed lots of new skills and think that I have developed a lot as a person and employee. I am proud of the stage I am at in my career given my age and look forward to continuing to develop

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have developed my confidence massively. I can now talk to audit teams and clients to discuss issues and new ideas. I have also learnt how to use Alteryx, Power BI and Tibco Spotfire whilst increasing my skills in Excel and becoming better at documenting results
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Since the change of ownership of the programme, the programme is well structured. There is a clear 4 year plan of how the programme is layed out and areas for progression. There are also stages in the programme, where apprentices can choose a development path that is suited to them.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer provides lots of support. We are given 20% off the job time to attend lectures and complete assessments. We have counsellors who always provide support relating to anything and there are lots of coaching and training sessions to improve your skills and learn new ones.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

At BPP you are assigned a skills coach. This person has regular catch up calls and is there for support when needed. The tutors often provide their email address in case there are queries around the assessment, however can take a long time to respond outside of lessons.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have learnt a lot of content in my qualification, some skills I use in my role and others are an important skill that I can use in the future. The programme has been adapted to be more tailored to our role and so the modules are more relevant.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are hundreds of extra curricular activities at EY. There are local office activities that involve in person collaboration and others are nation or worldwide and take place via a teams call. These are open to everyone that wants to get involved and there is a wide variety of activites.

Why?
There are so many opportunities at EY. The list is really endless. There is a huge support network and once you complete your qualification you can go into any area you choose. There are opportunities to work in any location, on multiple projects of your choice all with support of colleagues.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Do your research. Make sure you understand the different areas and choose the one that sounds right for you. EY is a huge company and whilst you can move around its important to pick an area that is of interest to you. Reach out to employees on Linkedin and ask lots of questions.
