Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
For the first year in my role I have been doing data analytics in a part of EY called the hub. In this role I use various programs like Alteryx, Spotfire and Excel to cleanse data and get it prepared for analysis. We then use a bot to create an analyser.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
My programme has been enjoyable so far as I have been in a team with a designated smaller pod which has been helpful as if you ever had any struggles there was someone to go to and they can help you out. The programme organiser is really good which helps a lot.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Throughout my first year of my course I have gained many new skills. These skills include data cleansing using Alteryx workflows. I also learnt various data cleansing methods to cleanse large data sets. I have also learnt skills relating to accounting books, including opening and closing balances and much more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is mostly well organised. The previous years have fed back to management as this is encouraged, and this feedback is used to improve the programme for us. This means that the programme as it is right now is very nice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer provides us with quite a bit of support. The manager that runs the course always has time for us and responds quick, and we are assigned councillors where we have chats with and can ask questions too. There is also a pod system which assigns people to make sure we are okay.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
With BPP it is difficult for them to support as it is online, however they do have a support structure. While you are having lectures you can talk directly to your lecturer, then outside of that you have to contact your tutor with any questions you may have, and they will help you.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Both go hand in hand towards understanding the company work and the qualification. There are also things that are not transferable across the both, like coding in the uni and accounting at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have found my overall experience at EY good, I think the company has good values and good traits which are nice. There are many nice people to talk to and makes it enjoyable. It is also nice to talk to other people on your programme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be yourself.
