Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis I work on the development of internal assets that automation new and existing processes. This can involve the development itself, project management, speaking with stakeholders, dealing with ad-hoc queries, giving presentations or doing research into technologies and how they can be implemented to benefit the firm.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my role, the team I work with is friendly, inclusive and supportive. I get to work with incredible people on amazing projects and doing so I have learnt and grown so much. The other apprentices on the course are friendly and we always enjoy spending time together.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a range of technical skills including coding in python, using applications such as Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI, developing dashboards, creating data visualisations in Alteryx, analysing and providing insights from data for clients. I have also developed personal skills such as presenting, networking, professionalism and confidence.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured while still offering flexibility to do what you want to do most. In your first two years, you follow a set path but following that you get opportunities to explore what most interests you, meaning you can shape your own career, but also be provided with guidance and support if you are not sure what to pick.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My counsellor is always there to support me, she helps me with anything I am unsure about and provides me with career guidance so I can be my best self at work and achieve all my goals. In addition to that my managers and senior leadership provide lots of guidance and training for us to make sure we feel fully comfortable with what we are doing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

BPP provides me with a skills coach who I have frequent calls with, but he is also there anytime I need him and usually any time of day too. He goes above and beyond to get an answer to any and all questions I have and makes sure I feel supported and confident with each module.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification supports me in my role by providing skills that allow me try new things at work. For example I have had modules in programming, and RPA which were both extremely useful in helping me secure my role in the automation team. Currently I am looking into data analytics modules which will help me in creating better dashboards for clients too.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of extracurriculars at work, there are sports teams that meet frequently such as football, netball, cricket and running. But there are also frequent quiz events, which you can attend and join a team and make friends if you dont enjoy sport. There are also plenty of socials and casual events for pizza, or activities like bowling.

Why?
The opportunities I have had at EY are incredible, at a young age I have been able to do so many impressive things. I always have exciting stories to tell to my friends about what I have done and can feel proud of all that I am able to achieve.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
My advice would be to make sure you understand how the company values and goals align with your own and how you can show that in your interview. Understanding what your purpose is can make it a lot easier to talk about why you want to be in the apprenticeship.
