Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Leading a team of staff to deliver excellent care according to appropriate standards, regulations, laws and legislation, striving to achieve above and beyond for the individuals we care for.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Had a few different tutors throughout and only one face to face appointment. I already had all the knowledge before starting the apprenticeship, but I was not given any lessons or material to revise from.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Somewhat. Eventually, I requested all questions to be sent to me so I could work through them all at once.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Where possible, I was allowed to work on my apprenticeship work during office hours. Unfortunately, this was not possible often due to the nature of the work. Managers would answer questions if they could decipher them, as questions are worded very strangely in some cases.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Somewhat. Video call every 2 weeks, not much explained easily.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps to prove I have the knowledge required, and aids me to support others in my team to complete their apprenticeships.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Due to the nature of the work, you are actively involved in social life and activities of individuals receiving care. Arts and crafts, bowling, cinema.

Would you recommend Lifeways to a friend?

Yes

Why?

It is a very large company and therefore the structure is there. Due to the size of the company, most things are turned into a paperwork rather than being truly person centred. If this was improved, the company would be one of the best.
