Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role consists of attending rotations, this means rotation around various business functions to learn about their processes and how they add value to the business. Outside of this, I interact and learn from my business area - specifically I learn about Datacenter and Cloud technologies as this is what I will sell when I graduate the Sales Associate Programme - for this I shadow members of the team, attend calls/meetings, and network.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy it. On the programme I am surrounded by likeminded graduates who all wish, like me, to succeed. Beyond them, I am able to engage with even some very senior stakeholders in my business. I am mentored, coached and I also have a learning plan to keep me on track and ensure I am confident when I graduate the programme

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes absolutely. Most of all I think my confidence and my communication skills are improving. I have always been good communicating face to face but over teams/email/message sometimes I could be quite awkward/not get my point across efficiently. Additionally I am learning about time management and organisation - I am learning to keep on top of workflows and ensure I am promptly responding to emails etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very well organised - we get the dates for our rotations well in advance and it even allows for 'team time'. Team time allows us to network and connect with our teams which is really important for relationship building. The apprenticeship part is also well organised as we know the training day dates and due dates for our projects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot of support - I have been given a buddy whom I can go to for day to day issues and any 'silly' questions. I meet with her often and she provides me with great advice as someone who has herself recently graduated the programme. I also have a coach whom teaches me about selling and a mentor who is focused on my career development. There is also the head of the programme who is great and my business line manager who is also very supportive.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Our training provider schedules in both group calls and one to one catch ups. He is also always available on teams for any questions we may have and replies promptly. I do feel supported and he seems willing to work around to help us achieve our goals of passing the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe the qualification will enable me to: a) develop my soft skills - I know there will be days of presentation workshops, as well as the qualification teaching us desired soft skills for salespeople b) the qualification will teach me about technology, something I previously had little experience in. Finally I think it will develop my longform writing skills
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of professional networking events at my workplace. When I attend I always aim to speak to at LEAST one new person MEANINGFULLY. I find this very beneficial. Additionally I have just been made aware of a women's sporting event which I think I might sign up to

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The working environment at Computacenter is challenging but highly supportive. I think this is a perfect balance as it doesn't incite boredom but doesn't threaten burnout either. There is a real winning together culture which is felt and I love that because teamworking is a strength of mine and something I really enjoy. The future earning prospects are also exceptional as well as the career development paths.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
Be yourself. It is a place that really values authenticity. Everyone is very much themselves which allows for lots of different opinions and ideas to come together. Think about your WHY. Why do you want to work at Computacenter and WHY do you want to do that certain role - if you can be sure in these things and communicate them clearly it goes a long way in an interview process
