Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I loved doing my programme because it gave me time to reflect on myself and gave me the opportunity for self development. I loved the fact I can learn and receive a qualification in my late 30s! I found the course invaluable and it has helped me personally and professionally

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Learned a lot about management styles and the type of manager I want to be. The programme taught me a lot about change management which is very important in todays world. I also developed my skills of effective communication with different levels of stakeholder which has been a huge help

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Lifetime are so experienced that everything felt really organised and well thought out. The learning coach was so knowledgeable about the industry as a whole but also whitbread which meant she could really support me and make the most of our time by relating things to my actual role. I always felt like I knew what was expected of me and by when.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My line manager was very supportive and was always there to help and advise. The company really focus on the quality of apprenticeships and are continuing to improve, overall I had a really positive experience in mine. Senior management also knew and when at site they would also ask how it was going and was I being supported
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My learning coach was always available to answer my questions or give guidance to materials that may help. Each review was structured in a way that really helped me prepare for my next review. As I completed it on the tail end of covid I faced lots of hurdles balancing my time but my coach always made allowances and helped me work around unforeseen circumstances to stay on track with my learning
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I was opening a new hotel whilst doing my qualification so it helped me massively! I was able to put my learning into practice in real time and had a very successful first year as a new business! Time management, dealing with stake holders and business change were just some of the learnings that helped me with the new opening.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Community work such as volunteering for a local charity. We partnered with a local homeless charity as part of the companies force for good agenda and the team really enjoyed it. As a company we are encouraged to regularly support Great Ormand Street Hospital. Our company also has the ‘GLOW’ network who take part in Pride events and other LGBTQ+ celebrations. And there is a Race, Religion, Culture and heritage network that people can join and support who hold socials and support our teams in all aspects of race and religion
