Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I do the store accounts for one of the regions here. I process all the claims for the stores, reconcile all the direct deliveries, check through any price changes and also ensure no transactions are stuck in SAP. I also process store cash sheets and account for vouchers/goodwill gestures,
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I do enjoy my programme, I enjoy having time at work to be able to work on my apprenticeship. I enjoy the meetings with my talent coach and the support I receive from him makes me feel more comfortable and therefore I find the process of the apprenticeship more enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I had worked in accounts positions before but I have never worked with store accounts, stock or inventory. I process a stock valuation every month and I analyse the gross margin for the region I am responsible for. I now understand stock holding levels and the information behind what goes into a P&L

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I found the structure absolutely fine but the organisation I did struggle with. I had a talent coach before and I wasn't told information that I needed in order to achieve in my apprenticeship, I also do not understand the KSB tracker and I think as part of your portfolio your statements also reflect these,
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I am allowed time off during work to work on my apprenticeship and also I received paid days off for study leave. Without this support I would struggle to be able to pass exams or work on my written statements as required for my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive more support now from my training provider than I did at the start of my apprenticeship as I didn't have the best support. However my new talent coach is really supportive and does give me the support required for anything to do with my apprenticeship and exams.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I do believe that what I have learnt has helped me massively in my current job role. The management costing unit was especially helpful to what I actually do in my role and learning the technical knowledge behind what I actually do on a day to day basis have improved my skills and accuracy.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have a very good rapport with our charity partner and multiple events are held over the year to get involved with. Last year I was involved in bake offs and a 13000ft charity skydive. We also have a teambuilding event called the summer social which happens every year and involves all staff and teams including the directors and MD.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I already have, my friend and my partner works here. Its a brilliant place to work with lots of opportunities for progression. The offices are beautiful and clean and the facilities available to staff are also very appreciated. They are also always striving to be better so things change here all the time and nothing ever becomes stagnant.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Ensure you research the company in depth before having your interviews as they really do value staff who want to get to know the company. It is a hard working environment but as long as you are a hard worker and enjoy being involved in the thick of things then you will flourish.
