Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It involves, markups on drawings on CAD, CIVIL3D and Revit for manholes shafts and site layouts with the occasional maths which isn’t too challenging
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
On a scale of 1-10 I’d say I enjoy it at a 7, some days could be better and some days are very good

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Developed a lot of people skills and how to properly communicate with professionals

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The program does and doesn’t have a structure, apart from university I take most the control at work. What I put in is what I get out
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive as much as I ask for to an extent. For example they can’t do my work but they can help me complete it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Minimal, as I go to university the support there is low unless I’m in a tutorial lecture
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
At the moment it has little impact as the area of engineering I work in is water and waste water treatment, my course is civil engineering in general
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
As I’m still very new I have not joined any yet, however I am a STEM ambassador which does provide networking

Yes
Why?
The are a very prestigious company so to have a 5 year apprenticeship with them behind your back really sets you apart from the rest
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WSP?
Be yourself, don’t overthink it, they want to see personality and not a robot
