Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Going through various rotations around the business to learn what they do and get a wider picture focus of how they connect to one another. The role also entails building up your confidence to be in front of customers and increase your technical knowledge to maintain conversations with customers in the future
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have really enjoyed the programme. No two days are the same as it keeps me on my feet and keen to learn more, network and work on where I can improve. I feel that the support along the way has been a key driver to my enjoyment on the programme

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt more about the technical side of IT which are vital to succeeding and being able to interact with some key contacts within customers. I have also build and developed my confidence with presenting which is very important even on an everyday basis with customers and even internally

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I feel that the programme has a good structure with the rotations and learning, however, it can be a bit last minute at times. I guess it helps you adapt and learn to be flexible, but I like to roughly know a schedule for a few months to plan ahead
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from a coach, mentor and buddy throughout the entire programme which is key to my development and learning. It really helps to have regular contact with people who want you to succeed in the programme and beyond. I have weekly contact with them most weeks
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from the training provider with monthly calls to check progress, tasks and projects. I also receive ah hoc support that I may need along the way if I come into an issue where I need extra help, such as being unsure how to tackle a task
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel the qualification has opened my perspective on the different sales skills needs to identify and respond in the sales cycle as well as specific skills like stakeholder management and writing. There is also training around wider skills metrics to identify your strengths and weaknesses which is helpful to see how you work
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Getting involved with networking events to build relationships with people in and out your team. There's the opportunity to get involved in charity work, to become a mental health officer, and to attend professional events through your respective teams who want you to learn and build your network for your own good

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It has a hard but rewarding programme to get the best out of you. You get all the tools, support and training you need but it is up to you to put the effort in and drive conversations and engagement. I like how welcoming everyone is and the programme is highly regarded internally
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
Use the STAR (situation, task, action, result) for the assessments. Make sure to highlight why sales is for you, even if you do not have the sales experience in your repertoire. It is important to be your authentic genuine self and be motivated to succeed and build relationships with others
