Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as business administrator within the CMO team is to ensure the doctors are ready ti practice! I am part of a team who manage doctors admin and paperwork. I log job plans for doctors, appraisals and many more.
I also have to manage the inboxes to make sure there up to date.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I haven’t been on my program for very long, about 2 months, but so far i’ve really enjoyed it! Getting to know a range of different friendly people is very helpful. Leaving about different things too is fun as business admin was somewhere i didn’t see myself but since being in this sector i really enjoy it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
During my time i have gained a couple of new skills! The first being how to use outlook correction and in a professional manner. The second being how to properly use excel and the formulas on there. Another skill i’ve gained is being able to manage the doctors job plans.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My program is very well structured. I have all the help and support i need and i know if i’m ever struggling then i can reach out and i will get the help i need! Having supporting mentors is one of the key aspects to achieving the best within my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Having supportive mentors is key. The reason being if you didn’t have any support then you are unlikely to progress and do well within your apprenticeship. I have receive all the support so far that i’ve needed! From emailing my tutor to giving them a quick call, they need to be there for you to succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
From my training provider so far i’ve revised all the help and support i’ve needed. For example when i started i had a couple of issues and they got resolved very quick and efficiently which was much to my happiness. This way i was able to sort my one file out and crack on with the work instead of falling behind.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel my qualification helps me in my role as we have monthly meeting calls and during these we learn all different things that relate to my role! For e some in one session we might learn different aspects or expel, when i can then apply to my daily role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Within my team yes. My team have regular catch ups outside of work which i think is a really nice way of getting to know one another better and outside work life. I believe there is opportunities to take part in events and activities if you wanted to take part.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend because they are a brilliant employer to work for! There are so many benefits of working for the NHS and there is a wide ladder to climb up regarding progression! As there are so many different roles this gives a nice pathway opportunity when you are looking for progression.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
I would suggest than even if your not 100% what you want to do, if you see an apprenticeship that interests you to just apply for it! I didn’t think business admin would be fit me but it turns out it is and i really enjoy it now thanks to finding the apprenticeship.
