Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to look after the kitchen team and the kitchen. Stocks, finance and all reports within the hospitality industry. I have to complete the rota's on PI4CAST. I also must complete all food orders and input them onto micros stocks. I do cook offs for the team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Learning how to put my new found knowledge into practice. Working on the laptop instead of being in the kitchen all the time. I love learning new things and new ways of working. My knowledge i have gained for outside of work is massive also, life skills, confidence and wellbeing.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have gained new knowledge on projected revenue, expenses, cash flow and investments. It is usually conducted with input from many different departments, because it requires input from multiple departments to come up with a holistic and detailed report. This has massively helped me in my role as a kitchen team leader.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
More structured non that Aptem is the platform. I like that it's set out in the monthly order, Aptem is very easy on the eye. Aptem notifies me when I should be completing work. I like how BKSB is also built in to Aptem and there is no learner portal now.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager supports me throughout my apprenticeship. Anything I need to complete for off the job training, I can do. I can shadow my manager to help with my learning too. I'm currently learning how to work in different departments. This is helping me with my apprenticeship and me as a person.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My Training provider helps me with all teaching and learning session. They're only a phone call away if I need anything, I called my training Provider as I had a query about micros stocks. This wasn't even part of the apprenticeship but they were happy to help. They also point out what I need to do moving forward.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My apprenticeship will help me gain the knowledge, skills, behaviours and confidence to preform my job without stress. I'm currently learning how to work in different departments instead of just the kitchen. Doing this apprenticeship has also helped me work at different sites within Whitbread as my confidence has grown.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I completed a sponsored five kilometre run for charity. We do create a lot of money for out sponsored charity. Great Ormand street hospital. We have a book stall, we have a team tuck shop and we sell teddy bears to anyone that wants one, these are £10 and it all goes to GOSH.
