Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I co-ordinate the London Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (LAAN), which is a collective group on employers raising the profile of apprenticeships. I manage a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice who helps to co-ordinate the network, and I organise events, collate quarterly reports and chair meetings as part of my job role. I am also on a rotation as part of my Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, where I support different business units depending on which degree module I am undertaking.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy it a lot! As someone who entered the world of work not knowing which field to go into, my apprenticeship journey has confirmed that I am someone who regularly enjoys learning new things, which I continuously do as every day in my role is very different. I learn a lot about different aspects of business in my course, which is exactly what I wanted.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed a vast range of skills during my time at Troup Bywaters + Anders, whilst completing my Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship and now undertaking my Level 6 CMDA. My communication skills have improved massively, as I have become more confident in presenting, and communicating with stakeholders, and my skillset in general has improved massively.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well structured, as each semester is something different which I can always apply to within my actual workplace. It has a good balance of independent study, and working with various people within my course. I have a one-day block which is focused on campus lectures and seminars.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have a good support system around me as my colleagues as always willing to help when I need it. I recieved a lot of support when shifting into my new apprenticeship, and I am often motivated by positive feedback from my colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive quite a lot of support from my training provider; I always have the chance to meet with lecturers and seminar leaders 1-on-1 to discuss any concerns I might have, or any help I may need on course content or assignments. I am also receiving the same amount of support from my employer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification has definitely helped me within my role as it teaches me more about my organisation and the different elements that contributes to the effectiveness of a business. I am working more closely with department leads to learn more about what they do for the business, and how I can help out.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
TB+A regularly hold social events such as Mental Health Awareness Week, Sustainability Week, and regular social events. Within my role in the LAAN, I regularly attend external meetings and conferences as an Apprentice Ambassador. I am given responsibility to attend these to represent the LAAN and also Troup Bywaters + Anders.
