Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Everyday we were greeted by the recruitment director at Gibson Dunn who was extremely welcoming and kind in our introduction and organising our sessions. There was a schedule in which we could see what each session would be and who it would be with, such as the associates. It was 9-3 on average and this time went by fast as the sessions were just so informative and gripping.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was extremely interesting and informative as I now have a clear idea of what I would like to do in the future and the process of securing a role within the business. I gained this from a range of people there such as recruitment directors, partners and trainees. The trainees experiences were most helpful as their recent pathways into the business were extremely relevant and suited to my future pathway into the business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have learnt how to network from all individuals I met at the company as well as directly from the Graduate Recruitment Director who knows exactly what we need to do in order to succeed in a placement at their company which was extremely helpful. As well as this I developed my employability skills by far. They were basic before I engaged in the sessions and now they have improved significantly.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight
5/5
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company was very sophisticated and welcoming. The building itself and the people within had made such a professional atmosphere suited to myself and other sixth form students who had never been apart of such a company before. The culture of the company was outstandingly diverse and inclusive which also made the experience feel even more beneficial and lit a fire in us to become more driven to be a part of such a team.

Would you recommend Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP to a friend?
Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP
To ensure that their cover letter as well as their cv is interesting and fitting to the company and their ethos. This is because you are more likely to get in and have the most enjoyable work experience insight. However you would still get in despite your cv and cover letter quality, as if the knowledge is there and you stand out, you will have the opportunity to improve your documents with professionals.
