Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We were given the opportunity to meet partners, associates and trainee solicitors-this entailed being given an in-depth explanation of the practice areas the solicitors specialised in-at the end I felt well informed and comfortable exploring several practice areas in law
Also we were equipped with knowledge about networking and what we need to do to be employable-given advice on how to improve our CV, interactive session on what skills employers look for and even networking bingo
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was exhilarating and definitely a learning process, I was quite surprised about the day in the life as a solicitor as it wasn't at all what I expected. I definitely recommend applying to insight programmes and general work experience at Gibson Dunn because it exceeded my expectation and it's just so diverse and caters to the needs of individuals i.e learning about how trainee solicitors are able to rotate seats and able to even go abroad for work on their practice areas
