Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Within Customer Management I will answer calls from clients' customers, escalate inquires when necessary and complete documents and admin work depending on each project. I attend meetings and have regular catch ups with my Team Leads to ensure I am on track with my work on the project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have really enjoyed networking with my colleagues, I have made connections with a lot of people and enjoy having people to relate to as my experience. I have enjoyed learning how to conduct myself professionally as well as attending university and having the best of both worlds, university and work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have definitely learnt new skills, some include time management, emotional awareness, professional acumen, technological skills, team working, networking, self awareness, self confidence, leadership, communication, problem solving, active listening, adaptability and collaboration.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is structured really well, I attend university once a week and work monday to thursday. I get study leave which helps balance workloads for university and I also benefit from all the university opportunities. I have review meetings to ensure I am developing in both work and at university.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer, I have a career coach who takes time to see how I am doing and is there if I need any extra support in work. They work with me and really care about my well-being. I have received lots of support and even from my colleagues as well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have also received beneficial support from university, my professors will have chats with me to make sure I am doing okay and I have went to them about personal matters and have been able to get support through deadline extensions because of circumstances. They ensure my well-being is supported at all times.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My degree has helped me talk to my colleagues to understand more about the firm. This can help me connect with others and develop connections with them. I have also learnt how my actions can affect others at work as well as how to communicate and manage customers which helps me in my customer facing role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I have attended my firm's First Fridays events which allow me to network with those in different service towers and be able to make connections across the firm in a casual environment. I also attended my firm's christmas gala dinner which allowed me to see my colleagues outside of a formal working environment and enjoy their company. I do wish to attend more activities in the firm.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have already recommended PwC to my friends and family as the firm is a great way to develop my professional skills as well as self confidence as I meet new people regularly and I am able to thoroughly enjoy my job and the people in it. PwC also are very invested in me and what I can bring to the firm which is highly motivating. They really look after their employees.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
I would say they should be persistent and motivated as the recruitment process can be lengthy. Sticking at it and completing all the necessary steps and wait for your result and feedback enthusiastically. It can feel a bit lonely waiting to know how you've done but it is so worth it in the end and all the hard work definitely pays off!
