Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Analysing client financial statements, testing internal controls and verifying and generating supporting documentation within the audit process as a whole. Regularly used digital tools to streamline the process such as Excel along with other PwC tools to increase efficiency.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Thanks to the senior associates I worked under, I was given a good deal of responsibility in relation to other interns. This allowed me to ask insightful questions and derive the most out of the internship resultantly.

I developed my analytical skills by working with large datasets and performing testing of these figures, whilst also improving my communication and teamwork skills through regular client interaction and collaboration with fellow colleagues.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The atmosphere and working environment tended to be very positive and inclusive. In particular, I noted how many events took place that fostered inclusion and openness in the firm, making everyone feel as welcomed possible in order to produce the best work.
