Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working on an audit team for one of PwC's clients. This client was in busy season, and day-to-day I'd meet with the team and complete various tasks that contributed to the clients end of year audit.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The team was very inclusive despite being incredibly busy. They made me feel like I was a part of the team, and that the work I was doing was important (they didn't give me simple admin like tasks). So lots of responsibility, which I really appreciated, as it allowed me to get some proper experience.

Lots of software skills in Excel. Developed team based skills, learning how to operate successfully and professionally in a large team of people.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Loads of help and guidance. As I said, despite my team being incredibly busy, they never hesitated to help me and the other intern on my team with our tasks or questions. The team would often spend time explaining the context and background of what we were doing, which really helped us to fully understand the work, even when they had a lot of work to be doing themselves. The team I was working on was a big highlight of the process for me, I felt supported and encouraged the entire time, and pushed to do more challenging tasks, which made me feel trusted by the team members, and contributed to an excellent experience during the internship.

What advice would you give to others applying to PwC
Be yourself, and don't stress about being less knowledgeable (about the specific role) than your peers. I had very little knowledge or background relevant to the role I was working in which worried me at first, but as long as you're open to learn and put in the effort, you'll do great!
