Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a software engineer, and mainly working on in house process improvements to reduce manual effort of repetitive tasks. I have completed my degree alongside and take study leave accordingly to complete this. Sometimes time does get difficult to manage but I feel I am supported at work to prioritise my degree.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love my work but found the university side of the program challenging emotionally. My company is a fantastic place to work, with an accepting culture and is much more than just a 9-5 if you want it to be.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed strong technical skills in my area, to the extent that I consult for new projects. I have improved my transferable skills such as communication and time management to become efficient at leading teams.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The university organisation has been lacking throughout which has caused quite a lot of stress. The apprenticeship team here are at no fault and try to rectify any issues but sometimes it is out of their hands.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is continually supportive and encouraging. This includes my day to day team, as well as the wider apprenticeship team. I am encouraged to put university work first, and other team members will support with tasks if I am overwhelmed by my work load.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has not been good. However the training provider has changed since I enrolled on the program so others may have a better experience now.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification doesn't have much direct correlation to my role, however the transferable skills gained from it have definitely been improved and allowed me to perform better in my role. For example, I have a better understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle now which allows me to plan projects more accurately.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many extra-curricular activities at my workplace. These are for all colleagues as well as some Apprentice/Grad specific. They really encourage networking events, as well as social get togethers organised monthly.

They are supportive in every way. The progression is clear and achievable. You are encouraged to follow what is right for your career, not just do what is best for the company. There is a big drive to upskill continually, encouraging whatever training pathways you are interested in.
