Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is within the engineering team working on the next generation of vehicles at the early stage of programmes. I work with lots of different stakeholders to help turn the design vision for the car in to reality
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme! Working on bring the next generation of vehicles to life is very rewarding and fulfilling when you see the reviews of journalists and customers when they are launched.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I am learning every single day. I work with some of the most experienced and best people in the industry, receiving both personal and professional coaching every day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I am on a legacy programme which has since been improved to be shorter (4 years vs 6 years) and be better structured. The programme has been improved since the start but the real changes were made to the new programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Any support I need is there if I need it. All of the line managers I have worked for are really helpful and prioritise my development over business objectives. The early careers team are also very supportive.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Any support I need is there if I need it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Some of the modules are less relevant to current roles but may be useful in the future. I feel like we don't go deep enough in our modules to gain a deep understanding. We get more of a general appreciation which I think works well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, the early careers community organise sporting and social events such as balls, badminton, karting etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have already been successful in convincing 2 friends to join (undergraduate and graduate). I think it is a great place to work and you get to work on some very exciting and impactful projects
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Ensure you read up on the creators code which is our company behaviours. Think of examples where you have shown them.
