Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role involved supporting children with various of different needs and ensuring that all of their needs are being met. As well as this my role is to work alongside my colleagues which includes class teachers so that all children’s needs are being met and are supported.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy this programme very much as I am able to spend lots of time developing my skills and I am able to ask for support when needs to help guide me with my own learning and development from professionals to support me and guide me.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills while doing my apprenticeship. This has entailed supporting and working at a team with colleagues and those around me. Working with different professional to meet children’s needs. Communicating with others to ensure that all of children’s needs are being met and parents are aware of any changes.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very structured. I am able to take some time out during my week to do some assignment work while at my place of work. I attend college once a month where I catch up with my tutor who sets more assignments and checks up on how I am and if I need any kind of support. My mentor is very supportive as well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive. They are able to guide me into how I should be supporting children and colleagues around me. They also do regular check ins to see how I am doing and if I require any other kind of support with my own professional development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has given me lots of support. I am able to communicate with them on a regular basis and I am able to look at what areas I need to develop on and discuss this with my tutor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has helped me immensely. I am able to speak with my tutor about areas that I need support on and we are able to discuss what we can do for to to develop in this area and build my professional development.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes I support with breakfast club and able flexible with my hour and time.
