Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a receptionist on a AM shift i check off our laundry delivery and put it away, check people out and ask them if they had a good stay with us, help housekeeping strip the rooms and check once they have been done. PM shift, check people in to the hotel and get them anything extra they request.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I have enjoy the programme in parts, but I have also found it repetitive and have not learnt that much from it, there isnt much you can learn on your own without being shown how to do it. There is a lot of reading and questions that are really not that relevant or interesting to do with the actual job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have gained confidence in being the first point of call for guests when they come to the desk and also over the phone, I have learnt how to use the booking system, how to deal with the public in different scenarios and to stay calm when the guests are agitated.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organised in a way that is easy to understand and work through, know what is due and when, and when it is overdue too, easy to upload and documents and view them. Split into sections of the learning and maths and english. Easy to log on to on any device.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
Not a lot, hence the reason I stated on an earlier question, a lot of the learning you have to been shadowing and learn from other people and I never got that chance to do it, so wasn't able to learn a lot of new things , just from what I read on the course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I received a lot of support from my training provider, catch ups and always there for help and advice when needed, but as I didn't get much help anywhere else I could not put a lot in to practice and keep up with the learning for when it was due to be completed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I did receive my qualification, but from the training I did do, it didn't really give me an insight or guidance to help me with my day to day duties in my role, it was more focused on the actual business and advertising than actual reception jobs that can be used day to day.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
No we do not have any extra curricular activities in our workplace. As a team we all get on very well, and some will speak to each other more outside of work, but generally we are work colleagues and have a chat when we see each other at work for a few minutes.

Be flexible in your working days/hours, be prepared to help out and cover when needed, as this happens often. Generally team mates are very friendly and helpful when new to the role. The benefits you get from the company are very valuable and can help you save money on essentials and treats.
