Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Shadowing qualified technicians on a daily basis, learning the systems around the building and growing confidence to start to complete the work myself under supervision.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the day-to-day work as it is a massive learning experience which is enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a lot of people skills, as well as managing time and workload on a daily basic. i have also learnt how to plan work for the future, as some jobs can only be completed on a certain date.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very-well structured, and it helps you learn about all trades within engineering and all of the systems around the various buildings.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer, as they question how my apprenticeship is going almost daily, and I have a fortnightly meeting to catch up with my line manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider are very supportive of my BTEC and HNC qualification. They are very good at answering emails and queries I have about assignment work, and they are very supportive of your apprenticeship too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The 1st year of my apprenticeship involves going to practical courses to learn the basics of engineering, and this helps indefinitely to my understanding of systems at work, so I can purely focus on the learning of the company and systems here.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are lots of groups where you can socialise through work. We as a department have a few occasions a year where we socialise outside of work.
