Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Creating mathematical models and simulations for weapons systems using Matlab and Simulink. Role is predominantly coding with a lot of maths/physics involved.

Given a lot of responsibility during placement, including real world classified projects to do independently.

Gained new knowledge of weapons systems as well as learning Matlab and Simulink. Developed communications skills during meetings and presentation skills.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Support was great. Didn’t feel supervised 24/7 which was nice as meant I could get on with my work without feeling watched constantly. I knew where to get support and that it would be available as and when I needed it. Everyone in the department was happy to provide support even if they were working on a different project.

Great atmosphere. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming in the department and wider company.
